ACCESSIBILITY TOOLBAR

You can now enhance your visit to this website by launching the accessibility toolbar (which is always available to launch via the ‘Accessibility Tools’ button in the top right corner of the website). This toolbar enables you to change the colour scheme, as well as text font style, size, colour and spacing. It also assists the reading of the site with five main tools: ruler, screen mask, magnifier and dictionary. In addition, the screen reader will read aloud website text, giving greater access to our website.

FM ASSISTED LISTENING

An FM assisted listening system is available for people with hearing impairments. Please request a handset from the Box Office when booking.

CAPTIONED PERFORMANCES

Captioned performances are similar to subtitles used in film. They are captioned live by Stagetext so that the text runs at the same speed as the actors on stage. If you have signed up for our pilot Access Online scheme, please ensure that, once you have logged on and selected the Captioned Performance, you select a seat indicated by a star to ensure you have best access to our captioning screens.

BSL INTERPRETATION

A BSL interpreter will interpret the spoken and heard aspects of the performance. The interpreter will be located on the left hand of the stage (as you are looking at it). If you have signed up for our pilot Access Online scheme, please ensure that, once you have logged on and selected the BSL Interpreted Performance, you select a seat indicated by a star to ensure you are seated in view of the interpreter.

HEARING DOGS

Hearing dogs are welcome at the Open Air Theatre. Please let the box office know when booking your ticket so that we can arrange an aisle seat, or have someone at hand to take care of your dog. Some of our productions contain loud noises and bright lighting effects. If this is likely to upset your dog please ask for advice when booking your ticket.
