We are delighted to welcome audiences back as we re-open our theatre with Jesus Christ Superstar: The Concert and MOREoutdoor Monday Comedy Events. Regular visitors will notice that we have introduced a number of changes so that we comply with new government guidance to operate safely. The safety of our audience, performers and staff remains of paramount importance to us, and we will follow government guidance meticulously. Measures to be introduced at our entirely open air venue include: reduced capacity, distanced performers, enhanced cleaning, one-way systems, mandatory face coverings, temperature screening, paperless and cashless systems, disposable glassware and meal boxes, and multiple hand sanitiser stations.
We have created this Information Hub for MOREoutdoor comedy events, to share the work we are doing and to help you prepare for your visit.
Tickets are only available in fixed groups, where 1, 2, 3 or 4 tickets are seated together and each group is distanced from the other groups in the auditorium in line with government guidance. All tickets within a particular group must be purchased by one booker. Each group must only consist of one household or support bubble. To allow for this social distancing, seating capacity has been dramatically reduced to 390 seats (down from 1,256). Single seats are therefore limited. To quickly locate single seats, please refer to the list on each of the event pages.
In the auditorium, every other row is not for sale. Each group of seats is separated from any other group of seats by at least 1 metre on all sides, with additional mitigations in place such that the entire auditorium is outside, audiences are not sat face-to-face, temperature screening will take place for everyone on arrival, and face coverings are mandatory throughout the venue. Performers are also distanced from audience members and themselves in line with government guidance, with rows A and B not for sale.

Ticket prices are fixed until 10 August.
Most suitable seating location at the lowest standard price band. Therefore, for shows with a flat price for all seats, there is no discount. No telephone booking fee on access bookings.
Owing to the significantly limited capacity, we are unable to offer any of our customary discounts extended to members and patrons for MOREoutdoor events..
HOW TO BOOK
Tickets should be purchased online*.
Where this isn’t possible, please call 0333 400 3562*. Lines open Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm. From 22 August: Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm, Saturday – Sunday, 10am – 6pm.
*A £1.80 per ticket online and telephone booking fee applies.
- We recommend that all tickets are purchased in advance. Tickets are only available from Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
- You will be emailed an e-ticket which may be shown on your mobile device when you arrive at the theatre. A few days ahead of your visit, you will also receive an SMS text message to your smart phone* with your tickets attached.
- If we are required by any COVID-19 government guidance or restrictions to cancel a performance, tickets may be exchanged or refunded as set out at Section 5 of our terms and conditions.
- MOREoutdoor events are never cancelled because of the weather.
- Tickets may not be resold. All tickets are sold in line with our full terms and conditions
* If you don’t have a smart phone, please arrange to print your e-tickets and pre-purchased food and drink vouchers and bring these with you to the theatre.
We will contact you by email ahead of your visit to update you on procedures, but please check back here for information which may have changed since your booking was made.
At the venue you must:
- abide by all relevant government guidance;
- abide by: all instructions given by our staff; our signage; and our full terms and conditions which can be found at www.openairtheatre.com/terms;
- permit your temperature to be screened upon arrival (see our FAQ for more information);
- wear a face covering (see our FAQ for information about exemptions); and
- maintain a distance of 2 metres where possible (and otherwise no less than 1 metre) from all other households or support bubbles at the venue at all times.
You must not attend the venue if you:
- believe you may be infected with COVID-19;
- have experienced symptoms in the last 14 days;
- have been in close proximity to anyone who has experienced symptoms in the last 14 days;
- have arrived in England in the last 14 days and are not covered by the exemption rules relating to self-isolation; or
- have been instructed to self-isolate.
Any individual who considers themselves to be clinically extremely vulnerable or who is in the same household or support bubble as someone who considers themselves to be clinically extremely vulnerable is advised not to attend.
When using public transport, please follow government guidance. We are easily accessible by by foot or by bike and have a large space within the venue for storing bicycles. Parking is free on the Inner Circle, Chester Road and Outer Circle after 6.30pm every day.
Gates open 30 minutes before MOREoutdoor events, and performances start at 6.00pm and 9.00pm (these are different to our usual start times).
For the 6.00pm show, entry to the theatre is via the main box office in Queen Mary’s Gardens. If you require a more accessible entrance, please enter via the Theatre Exit Gate on the Inner Circle.
For the 9.00pm show entry to the theatre is via the Stage Door Gate on the Inner Circle.
As you may be subject to additional security checks on your visit to the Open Air Theatre, we ask that you arrive early. We appreciate your patience and understanding while these are taking place. As our capacity is currently restricted, please do not bring any picnic baskets or other large bags. Only one bag per ticket holder, no larger than 36cm x 30cm x 50cm, will be allowed into the theatre grounds or auditorium. Please note that cloakroom facilities are not available.LATECOMERS/RE-ADMITTANCE
Owing to the nature of the theatre and the intimacy of the auditorium, admitting latecomers, and re-admitting audience members during the performance, can be distracting to the performers and others in the audience. Latecomers and re-admittance to the auditorium therefore may not be permitted and you may be asked to wait by a television relay of the performance in the bar area. The running time is 70 minutes with no interval.
FOOD AND DRINK
You may picnic outside the venue in Queen Mary’s Garden, but please note that picnic baskets and other large bags cannot be brought into the venue. Please note that there will be no food available at the theatre for MOREoutdoor events.

A reduced bar service will be available on the day. All drinks are served in disposable glassware. Customers' own keep-cups will not be accepted for hot drinks. Please note that the bar closes 5 minutes prior to the performance and will not be open during or after any performance.

In the event of cancellation of a show because of the weather, food and drink purchased in advance for consumption before the show is non-exchangeable and non-refundable, as all pre-show orders will be available at the venue before any such cancellation is announced. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.
TAKING YOUR SEATS
Please maintain a distance of 2 metres where possible when queuing to take your seats. Whilst the capacity in the auditorium has been greatly reduced, you may need to pass someone to take your seat. Please mitigate any risk by keeping your mask on and turning away as you pass.
AT THE END OF THE SHOW
Please allow those seated in Row J to leave the auditorium first. An usher will indicate when you are able to leave. Please maintain a distance of 2 metres where possible when moving to the exit of the theatre and please take any rubbish with you, or leave it in the bins provided.
How will you maintain social distancing in the venue?
We have created one-way systems around the venue, reduced the amount of furniture front-of-house and installed signage to indicate appropriate distancing. We have reduced our audience capacity to 390 seats (30% of our usual capacity). In the auditorium, every other row is not for sale. Each group of seats is separated from any other group of seats by at least 1 metre on all sides, with additional mitigations in place such that the entire auditorium is outside, audiences are not sat face-to-face, temperature screening will take place for everyone on arrival, and face coverings are mandatory throughout the venue. Performers are also distanced from audience members and themselves in line with government guidance, with rows A and B not for sale.
What additional safety measures are you taking?
We will follow government guidance at all times. Face coverings are mandatory for everyone throughout the venue. Everyone arriving at the venue will have their temperature screened. Transactions will be cashless and paperless with one way systems, disposable glassware and meal boxes, multiple hand sanitiser stations and enhanced cleaning processes in place throughout the venue.
What is a support bubble? In England, if you live by yourself or are a single parent with dependent children – in other words, if there is only one adult in your home – you can expand your close support network so that it includes one other household of any size. This is called making a ‘support bubble’ and means you are able to have close contact with them as you could if they were members of your own household. You should not change who is in your bubble.
What happens when you take my temperature on arrival?
Audiences will have their temperature screened upon arrival. If we assess (at our sole discretion) that your temperature is 37.8C or higher, you and those who were to be part of your fixed group of tickets will not be allowed to enter the venue and the face value of your tickets will be refunded (as set out at 5.8.1 in our terms and conditions) within 7 days. Temperature data is only processed for the purpose of assessing condition for entry to our event, and this information is not retained in any way.
Why are only a few single seats available at each performance?
With social distancing, seating capacity has been dramatically reduced to 390 seats (down from 1,256). This makes producing any large-scale show economically extremely challenging, particularly as we are an unfunded organisation. The combination of groups of seats in the auditorium has been configured to enable the maximum overall capacity per performance and with knowledge of prior booking history which shows that the majority of bookers will require at least two seats.
Do I need to wear a face covering?
Yes, these are mandatory throughout the venue. You will not be required to wear a face covering if: you have a physical or mental illness or impairment, or a disability that means you cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering; or putting on, wearing or removing a face covering would cause you severe distress. In these cases, you should wear an exemption lanyard which can be downloaded here.
Why do I have to wear a face covering during the performance?.
Under government guidance, where social distancing is reduced to between 1 and 2 metres (as it is in the auditorium), additional mitigations should be put in place. For us, these are that: the entire auditorium is outside; audiences are not sat face-to-face; temperature screening will take place for everyone on arrival; and the use of face coverings is mandatory at all times (other than momentarily to enable eating and drinking when seated with your household/support bubble only). You will not be required to wear a face covering if: you have a physical or mental illness or impairment, or a disability that means you cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering; or putting on, wearing or removing a face covering would cause you severe distress. In these cases, you should wear an exemption lanyard which can be downloaded here.
Are the toilets open?
Yes. There is a new entrance and new one-way queuing system in place. Please follow signage or ask a member of staff. Accessible toilet facilities remain in the same place as before. Toilets will be cleaned before each audience arrive and again during the performance.
Can I pay with cash at the theatre?
No. We ask that all payments are made by Visa, MasterCard or American Express. We are able to accept payment via Apple Pay and Google Pay.
What will happen if it rains?
Information about what happens in inclement weather can be found here. Should it become necessary to shelter from the rain, please ensure your household or support bubble remains distanced from all others either under cover by the bar or under the canopy where you entered the theatre. Umbrellas are not permitted in the auditorium. MOREoutdoor events are never cancelled because of the rain.

How long is the show?
The show runs at 70 minutes. There will be no interval.
Can I bring a picnic?
You may picnic in Queen Mary’s Gardens outside the theatre, however picnic baskets cannot be brought into the venue. Personal belongings must be kept to a minimum. Please see Food and Drink for information about what is available at the theatre.
