FAQ hub

Full terms and conditions are available at www.openairtheatre.com/terms.

Do you serve throughout the evening?

Most food is only served prior to the performance although cakes are available at the interval. Food service ends 15 minutes prior to the performance. To allow you sufficient time to take your seats, the bar staff are asked to stop serving five minutes prior to the performance. Drinks purchased from our bar may be taken into the auditorium but please note that food is not permitted in the auditorium.

Are food items nut-free?

We cannot guarantee that any of the items are nut-free. Please ask a member of staff for further details.

What time do the theatre gates open?

In order to prepare the venue and for the cast to complete their warm up, theatre gates open 90 minutes before evening performances and 60 minutes before matinees.

Is food available before every performance?

The barbecue is available before matinee and evening performances, including music, comedy and film events. Pre-ordered picnics can be booked for evening and 2:15 matinee performances. At the Summer Café, soup is available before evening performances; cold dishes are available before evening and 2:15 performances. The Summer Café and pre-ordered picnics are not available prior to Sunday evening shows.

Can I bring my own food to the theatre?

Although we would prefer you to purchase food and drink at the theatre as this revenue further supports our productions, you may bring your own picnic to eat on the picnic lawn or in Queen Mary's Gardens next to the box office in Regent's Park. Please note however that hot food may not be brought onto the premises. Those purchasing food may be given priority to tables at the theatre and, though drinks purchased from our bar may be taken into the auditorium, food is not permitted in the auditorium.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes, with the exception of American Express and Diners Cards. However, we cannot accept credit cards during the interval.

If I have pre-ordered food, what happens if the performance is cancelled because of bad weather?

Food and drink purchased in advanced for consumption before the show is non-exchangeable and non-refundable, as all pre-show orders will be available at the venue before any such cancellation is announced. Interval drink pre-orders placed at the venue will be refundable, provided they had not been prepared at the time of cancellation. Patrons will be required to present a receipt when claiming their refund.

I'd like to arrange some corporate hospitality. Who is the best person to speak to?

Please e-mail Marianne Richardson or call 020 7467 4957.
